Abstract
Changes in the structure and quality of sleep are common in the elderly. Evaluation of sleep disorders in the aged requires a thorough examination of the patient's health status and environmental factors. In this paper we review the commonest causes of sleep disorders and present guidelines for their pharmacologic treatment.
