Unexpected Sultine Formation Resulting from the Friedel-Crafts Sulfonylation of Fluorene with 2,4,6-Triisopropylbenzenesulfonyl Chloride

A sample recrystallized from 5% ethyl acetate/heptane melted at 164.6–165.5°C.
