  • The reaction can be monitored by recording 1H-NMR spectra of aliquots of the reaction mixture. It is discontinued when the integrals of the resonances of the methylenic protons at ca δ 3.8 (CH2Br) and δ 4,0 (CH2, OO) reveals the ratio alkyl bromide/peroxide to be constant.
