• (+)-(S)-2-Methylbutanenitrile has been prepared through oxidation of the naturally occurring (-)-(S)-2-methyl-1-butanol, followed by dehydration with chlorosulfonyl isocyanate13 of the obtained (+)-(S)-2-methylbutanoic acid.
