- The complex formation of lithium N N-bis(trimethylsilyl)amide (2) with AgI appears to be specific with respect to 2 because of its milder ability to transfer electrons.8 In a similar reaction using LDA, the reduction of AgI gave silver metal, and only a small amount of di(isopropyl)benzylamine was obtained.
