Can achievement emotions be used to better understand motivation, learning, and performance in medical education?

He co-directs the Long-Term Career Outcome Study (LTCOS) of Uniformed Services University (USU) students and graduates with Dr Durning. His research focuses on understanding the role of motivation and emotion in a variety of educational contexts, including online learning and medical education. He is also a Professor Adjunct of Medicine at both Yale University and USU. His research focuses on improving methods for educating and evaluating medical residents and physicians, promoting faculty development, and investigating methods to enhance the quality of care that physicians provide.

He co-directs the LTCOS of USU students and graduates with Dr Artino. He also directs the Introduction to Clinical Reasoning Course and is a general internist. His research focuses on improving clinical reasoning and tracking long-term physician outcomes.
