Baltic Studies as Crossroads
Just as the Baltic lands and societies have always been a geographic crossroads, where cultures, economies, and political systems would meet, so, too, is the field of Baltic studies a dynamic interface where many scholarly disciplines meet and cross-pollinate. This special collection offers a sampling articles published in recent years from the pages of Journal of Baltic Studies, spanning the spectrum of disciplines from economics, politics, and sociology, to history, urban planning, and cultural studies. They offer a taste of the dynamism of the region and the variety of topics on borders, meeting points, transformative choices, transnationality, and migrations within Baltic studies. This collection was created for the 28th Biennial AABS Conference, Seattle, 27–29 May 2022.
