JOS 30th Anniversary Collection
The Journal of Occupational Science 30th Anniversary Collection showcases the influential ideas and authors that have contributed to the journal’s success. From humble beginnings, JOS readers now span the Americas, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, the Middle East, and all points in between, accounting for more than 300,000 downloads per year and rising. While the science has huge breadth, the enduring discussions include occupation as a determinant of human health and ill-health, people’s experience of engaging in occupation, occupation as a dynamic transaction with the environment, issues of occupational justice, and how occupation might be deployed to reveal and disrupt the impact of colonisation and racism.
Articles selected for inclusion span the decades since publication of the first issue in 1993, thus revealing how the conversation has shifted over time, with priority given to topics amplified by researchers and scholars have who followed. It is our great pleasure to share this collection, as both a reflection on where occupational science has come from and where it might journey in the future.
