Onward in Agriculture - Animal Husbandry and Animal Welfare
This collection of articles focuses on the theme "Onward in Agriculture - Animal Husbandry and Animal Welfare" aiming to emphasise and highlight the research presented on the theme at the NJF Nordic Agricultural Congress 2022. This collection compile and promote recent research contributing to development of animal husbandry and animal welfare with a focus on the conditions in Nordic European animal production. The collection covers all parts of the systems for production and consumption of animal products. It covers management, housing, behaviour and animal welfare on farm during rearing, at pasture and at the slaughterhouse. It also covers the processing, market and consumer aspects related to animal production, including digitalisation and animal welfare assessment, animal welfare labelling, sustainability assessment in dairy and meat processing. This research contributes to applied aspects of the development of future production and consumption of animal products in Northern Europe.
