Journal overview

Scandinavian Journal of History presents articles on Nordic history and review essays that survey themes in recent historical research about the Nordic region. Therefore, studies explicitly comparing Nordic processes and phenomena to those in other parts of the world are particularly appreciated, as are inter-Nordic comparative and transnational studies. We welcome proposals for special issues and review essays.

Those interested in proposing a special issue should contact the Editors-in-Chief Kirsi Salonen ([email protected]) and Ragnheiður Kristjánsdóttir ([email protected]). The yearly deadline for submitting proposals for special issues is 1 October, and decisions are made by the end of January the following year.

Scandinavian Journal of History is published for the Historical Associations of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the country Editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to peer review by independent, anonymous expert referees. The Editor I Chief will make the final decision based on the reviewer reports. All peer review is double anonymized and submission is online via ScholarOne Manuscripts [ https://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/shis].
