Aims and scope

The Application of Clinical Genetics is an international, peer-reviewed, open access, online journal that welcomes laboratory and clinical findings in the field of human genetics.

The Application of Clinical Genetics will no longer consider meta-analyses for publication.

Original research, reviews, symposium reports, case studies, hypothesis formation and commentaries on the following:

  • Population genetics
  • Functional genetics
  • Natural history of genetic disease
  • Management of genetic disease
  • Mechanisms of genetic disease
  • Counseling and ethical issues
  • Animal models
  • Pharmacogenetics
  • Prenatal diagnosis
  • Dysmorphology

The Application of Clinical Genetics endorses the STROPS guidelines for pharmacogenetic studies. Authors are required to upload a completed STROPS checklist (and any applicable secondary checklists specific to the study design – for example the CONSORT checklist for a randomized clinical trial study or the STROBE checklist for observational studies) with their submission files.
