About this journal

Aims and scope

Acta Linguistica Hafniensia was founded in 1939 by the Linguistic Circle of Copenhagen, and has been an influential international platform for linguistic research ever since. Since 2009 the journal has been published in association with Routledge and continues to build on the strong traditions of the Linguistic Circle of Copenhagen through local management and editorship. Supported by an international editorial board of acclaimed scholars from across the linguistic field, Acta Linguistica Hafniensia welcomes high-calibre contributions from all areas of linguistics, but pays special attention to research within functional linguistics, cognitive linguistics and sociolinguistics. The journal embraces synchronic as well as diachronic perspectives, and carries articles that address language-specific as well as cross-linguistic and typological research questions. The journal appears twice a year and regularly publishes special issues devoted to particular themes and disciplines. All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial evaluation by the editors, and, if found suitable for further consideration, to single anonymized peer review by independent expert referees.
