Open access

Journal of Nuclear Science and Technology is a hybrid open access journal that is part of our Open Select publishing program, giving you the option to publish open access. Publishing open access means that your article will be free to access online immediately on publication, increasing the visibility, readership, and impact of your research.

Why choose open access?

  1. Increase the discoverability and readership of your article
  2. Make an impact and reach new readers, not just those with easy access to a research library
  3. Freely share your work with anyone, anywhere
  4. Comply with funding mandates and meet the requirements of your institution, employer or funder
  5. Rigorous peer review for every open access article

Article Publishing Charges (APC)

If you choose to publish open access in this journal you may be asked to pay an Article Publishing Charge (APC). You may be able to publish your article at no cost to yourself or with a reduced APC if your institution or research funder has an open access agreement or membership with Taylor & Francis.

Society information

The Atomic Energy Society of Japan

The Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ), founded in 1959, is the only organization in Japan that aims to contribute towards progress in the development of nuclear energy including use of radiation, giving the highest priority to safety of the public, by seeking academic and technological advances pertaining to the peaceful use of nuclear energy. These activities intend to achieve sustainable development of the World through contribution to environmental reservation while also improving human lives and health.

The Society's primary responsibility is to steadily deliver relevant information to members through the Society's journal, annual meetings and congresses, reports, seminars and workshops; as well as news distributed via the mailing list. It also will provide a place where members from various organizations can communicate their own diverse opinions within certain parameters, stimulate debate, and enhance their expert knowledge and the academic base.

Based on the fact that a multiple large-scale core meltdown accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant - caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake - could not be prevented, we will continue to disseminate academic recommendations and collaboration activities, and respond to the interests and needs of the local people.
