About this journal

Aims and scope

Theory & Research in Social Education is designed to stimulate and communicate system­atic research and thinking in social education. Its purpose is to foster the creation and exchange of ideas and research findings that will expand knowledge and understanding of the purposes, conditions, and effects of schooling and education about society and social relations. Manuscripts reporting conceptual or empirical studies of social educa­tion are welcomed.

Society information

CUFA is an affiliate group of the National Council for the Social Studies. If you are interested in joining CUFA you must also join or already be a member of the National Council for the Social Studies. You can join online or download a membership form here. If you are already an NCSS member and would like to join CUFA, please contact the NCSS membership department directly by phone at 301-588-1800 ext. 111 or by email [email protected] . Membership dues are $60 for regular membership and $15 for student membership. With membership you receive our official journal Theory and Research in Social Education.

CUFA consists of a really nice and thoughtful bunch of higher education faculty members, graduate students, and others interested in working with social educators (k-16) such as social scientists, historians, and philosophers. As well as being an advocacy organization for social studies education. CUFA conducts its own program and business meeting during the NCSS Annual Conference.
