Abstract
The energy boom in northwestern Colorado impacted local towns, which in turn affected the retail stores. This article investigates geographic characteristics of range, threshold, and exceptional functions in these towns during boom and bust periods, and compares this with retail characteristics of local recreation-retirement and agricultural towns.
