Education for acquisitions and collection development in Papua New Guinea, with reference to courses at the University of the South Pacific

Abstract

This paper provides basic data on major libraries in Papua New Guinea and describes existing provisions for education in acquisitions and collection development. Details of various courses are included. The need for further work in this area is indicated, together with library development more generally and research on library practice.
