Abstract

We, the Editor and Publisher of World’s Poultry Science Journal, have retracted the following article:

S. Umar, M.A.A. Shah, M.T. Munir, U. Ahsan & K. Kaboudi, ‘Infectious bronchitis virus: evolution and Vaccination’ (2016) 72:1, 49-60 https://doi.org/10.1017/S0043933915002706

The above article has been retracted as, subsequent to publication, significant duplication has been found in content in the ‘Introduction,’ ‘Evolution of infectious bronchitis virus,’ ‘Vaccination and the evolution of IBV,’ and ‘Genomic structure and biological activities of IBV’ sections with the following published works:

  • Jackwood, Mark W; Hall, David; and Handel, Andreas, ‘Molecular evolution and emergence of avian gammacoronaviruses’ Infection, Genetics and Evolution (2012) 12:6 1305-1311 DOI 10.1016/j.meegid.2012.05.003

  • Abro, Shahid. ‘Molecular Characterization and Detection of Infectious Bronchitis Virus’ (Doctoral thesis). Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. (2013) https://pub.epsilon.slu.se/9299/1/abro_s_121210.pdf

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
