A Model for Forecasting Public Expenditure on Schemes of Selective Financial Assistance for Industry

Abstract

Forecasts of expenditure on schemes of selective financial assistance for industry are required in the context of the Public Expenditure Survey. This paper contains a description of a model which has been developed to assist in the forecasting of expenditure. The model is of the distributed lag type and uses a simple application of Bayes Theorem.
