Abstract
This article describes the development of a decision support system to help a US organisation, the Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation, to plan laboratory accreditation visits.

Veena Adlakha
VEENA ADLAKHA is a professor of operations management and at the University of Baltimore. Dr Adlakha's research on discrete event simulation, and stochastic activity networks has appeared in several journals including Networks, Simulation, Management Science, Decision Sciences, Operations Research and European Journal of Operations Research. She has served as consultant to the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company, Westinghouse, and the Research Triangle Institute.
Hossein Arsham
HOSSEIN ARSHAM is an associate professor in the Information and Quantitative Sciences Department and associate research professor in the Information Systems Research Center (ISRC) at the University of Baltimore. The expertise of Dr Arsham is in stochastic and deterministic mathematical statistics and data analysis, as is evidenced from over seventy journal publications. His research has been supported by private companies and federal agencies.
