Abstract

William F. Hoyt, born in 1926 in Berkeley, CA, USA, trained 111 fellows in neuro-ophthalmology. Among these were 21 who had come from Europe. Returning to their home countries, these European researchers passed on to the up-and-coming generation what they had learned from the vast clinical experience of their admired teacher in San Francisco.
