Abstract

Fifteen species from the family Chenopodiaceae have been analysed for their chemical constituents: alkaloids, anthraquinones, coumarins, flavonoids, saponins, sterols and/or terepenes and tannins. The antimicrobial activity of these plants was tested in two concentrations against Gram-negative Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Gram-positive Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis.
