Abstract
The analysis of the volatile components in the essential oil of Stoebe vulgaris Levyns (Compositae) by GC and GC-MS revealed the presence of at least 50 compounds. Of these, 46 were identified corresponding to about 60% of the oil. The major compounds were found to be spathulenol, limonene and ?-terpinene. Vulgarol B is reported for the first time in the Compositae family.
