Abstract

Perforation of a jejunal diverticulum is a rare clinical entity. Its elusive clinical presentation often delays diagnosis resulting in high morbidity and mortality rates.

We report a case where a female patient was treated conservatively for an intra-abdominal abscess of unknown origin. After three weeks, an exploratory laparoscopy was performed. The definitive diagnosis was an abscess resulting from a perforated solitary jejunal diverticulum.
