Pages 460-461 | Published online: 11 Mar 2016

Abstract

Tracheomalacia is a rare complication that may occur in patients undergoing thyroidectomy for a along-standing goiter. A case of tracheomalacia due to compression of the trachea with a giant multinodular goiter is reported. Following total thyroidectomy the tracheal ring was fixed bilaterally to periosteum of sternal end of the clavicle. This method of tracheopexy was effective in management of this particular patient.
