Abstract

The operating characteristics of a pilot baghouse and the filtering characteristics of fly ash filtered from the flue gas of a pulverized coal-fired power plant were studied by techniques developed in the engineering research laboratories of the National Center for Air Pollution Control in Cincinnati. The permeability of the dust cake varied with the operating conditions of the baghouse in a way that significantly affects the pressure drop and power requirements of the system.
