Pages 214-217 | Published online: 15 Mar 2012

Abstract

The “Soiling Potential” technique for evaluating fossil fuel combustion plumes in quantitative units is explained by examples and test results. The technique may serve as a valuable tool in emission inventory programs since it is a reproducible method for assessing the degradation of the soiling index of the ambient air resulting from the combustion of fossil fuels.
