Abstract
It cannot be denied that some utility managers are opposed to sulfur dioxide scrubbers and their companies, thus far, have been able to employ alternatives to flue gas desulfurization. This paper, however, does not deal with the attitudes of the scrubber opponents; it is concerned with the companies which have already made firm scrubber commitments and significant investments in this particular control technology.
