Abstract
While air pollution control firms geared to the chemical industry are beginning to see an increase in orders, those tied to the utility industry are resigned to another year of inactivity. Some of the firms which have become international in marketing are benefitting from the upsurge of activity in Europe and this will strengthen their eventual position in the U.S. market. On the whole, however, U.S. companies are not participating in the tremendous amount of business presently being conducted in West Germany. European companies are obtaining most of this business and they will be in a better position to compete for the U.S. business when the recovery takes place in the United States.
