Abstract
The control of toxic air emissions from hazardous waste management facilities is being investigated by regulatory agencies and the owners and operators of such facilities. Several methods that potentially could be used to control emissions are identified in this article, which addresses emission control methods for storage tanks, surface inpoundments, land treatment facilities, landfills and waste storage piles. Based on information obtained from the literature and emission control equipment manufacturers, estimates of the costs and emission control efficiencies of the methods are provided.
