Pages 31-42 | Published online: 23 Jan 2018

Abstract

This essay articulates a case for triangulation as a research strategy to aid in the development of theoretical claims and the integration of theory. Data, investigator, theoretical, and methodological types of triangulation are described. The potential and actual uses of these types of triangulation are demonstrated for argumentation by examining research in everyday argument and argument fields.
