Pages 385-391 | Published online: 31 Dec 2007

Abstract

The firing of explosive assemblies containing beryllium creates a potential hazard of widespread contamination by finely divided and oxidized beryllium. A description of the facilities involved and the results of a study of the degree of contamination are presented. A program of personal hygiene and facility housekeeping for the protection of workers from beryllium contamination is described.
