Abstract
A field spot test method has been developed to detect the presence of cobalt hydrocarbonyl and/or its decomposition products in air at the 0.1 ppm level. The sample is collected on a resin-impregnated filter which is then treated with buffer, chelating indicator, and acid. The intensity of the color developed is a function of the cobalt content on the filter. The filters are compared visually with permanent color standards.
