Abstract

Techniques and applications of analysis by ultraviolet absorbance methods are discussed. Such methods can often be applied in circumstances where there has not been time to establish procedures in advance of sampling. The UV absorption technique has been set up as a standard method for aniline, DDT, ethyl benzene, dinitrophenol, isophorone, phenol, pyridine and styrene, and as a check for other substances such as methylene iodide, p-dinitrosobenzene and TDI.
