Development of a Personal Monitoring Instrument for Noise

Pages 59-63 | Published online: 27 Dec 2007

Abstract

A new portable instrument has been developed that records the total amount of time a worker is exposed, at or above a selected noise level. It is small, light, and designed to be worn on the person while at work. This will permit significant measurement of total exposure time during a man's movements about his work. Performance data are given as well as a guide for the interpretation of the data.
