Some Applications of Coulometry to Industrial Hygiene Analysis

Pages 544-548 | Published online: 27 Dec 2007

Abstract

Two applications of the coulometric technique to routine industrial hygiene analysis are described. The cell and electrodes used for the determination of ozone and ammonia are simple. The methods are rapid and have reasonable accuracy. The interference of nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide at the pH of the ozone titration are diminished. The ammonia determination provides a general technique for determining nitrogen-containing materials of industrial hygiene interest as well as ammonia itself.
