Abstract
This paper presents considerations evoked by the report by Miss V. M. Trasko, Chairman of the Committee “Resurvey of Industrial Hygiene Services in Industry.” While there are many facets of our profession of which we can be proud, such as the high esteem in which we are held by other professional groups, we should not be complacent. There is a need for better trained managers in industrial hygiene, increased recruitment of personnel into our profession, and a definite need for increasing the number of students in our educational institutions in the industrial hygiene programs. The profession is also in need of greater public awareness of the value of an industrial hygiene program for protecting the nation's greatest asset—the American Worker.
