Pages 135-143 | Published online: 27 Dec 2007

Abstract

The diagnosis of occupational chest disease requires both the evaluation of clinical findings and of the patients history of exposure to industrial dusts. The dust exposure cannot be evaluated solely on the basis of current measurements, The industrial hygienist must apply his professional knowledge of procedures, materials and practices of past years to project the evaluation of the probable exposures over a period of years. The physician and industrial hygienist must work as a team.
