Hygroscopic Effects on Weight Determinations of Particulates Collected on Glass-Fiber Filters

Abstract

The effect of relative humidity on the tare weight of glass-fiber filters was insignificant, but the effect on collected particulates was significant when the humidity exceeded 55%. When particulate samples were weighed at relative humidities below 55%, weight variations did not exceed 1%.
