Determination of Diethanolamine and 2-Methylaminoethanol in Air

Pages 411-413 | Published online: 27 Dec 2007

Abstract

An analytical technique is described for determining microgram quantities of airborne vapors of diethanolamine and 2-methylaminoethanol. The amine is collected in distilled water. The hydroxy ethyl radical of the amine is oxidized to formaldehyde with periodic acid, and the formaldehyde is subsequently determined by the chromotropic acid method.
