Abstract
The electrons of importance biologically in the absorption of energy from beta particles emitted by tritium have energies below 1 keV. These electrons have extremely short ranges which prompt the examination of absorbed energy on some basis other than average dose, such as ergs/gm. Tentative MPC's for tritiated water and tritiated thymidine are derived in this paper without reference to absorbed dose. The MPC's thus obtained are 10 to 100 times present recommended values.
