Abstract

A reproducible, easily dispersed, resipirable-size fibrous dust was prepared by micropulverizing and air-jet milling a Canadian chrysotile asbestos from the Johns-Manville Jeffrey mine. Three Bureau of Mines approved and five nonapproved respirators were evaluated against this dust, using standard Bureau of Mines techniques. With one exception, all had fiber breakthrough below 1%.
