Near Field Sound Pressure Level Measurements Around an Air-Cooled Exchanger

Pages 377-382 | Published online: 04 Jun 2010

Abstract

Distant, free field noise measurements are not always practical because of plant layout and other noise sources. Near field sound pressure levels are of interest to users of air-cooled exchangers. Selection of the correct center of sound is necessary for the use of near field measurements to predict noise levels. A test program is described which shows that predictions from near field measurements can be used with good correlation.
