Abstract
Samples of atmospheric pollutants were taken from selected workplaces at both black-coal and coal-tar coke oven plants. Their analyses and electron micrographs are presented. Silver metal membrane filters were also used in an attempt to establish the content of the benzene-soluble fraction. The view is expressed that the ascertained content of coal-tar pitch volatiles in the atmosphere of black-coal coke oven plants need not necessarily be a measure of the carcinogen danger there.
