Abstract
A method for making visible and sizing droplets of an aqueous aerosol by means of dying them and sucking them into a fine pore membrane filter (pores of 10 mµ is compared with one of today's most accepted methods, the thermal precipitator. After taking a sufficient great number of samples the results with both methods agreed very well, but with the membrane filter method it is possible to sample with greater velocity. This allows isokinetic sampling and the method is quicker and simplified.
