A Simple Model for the Estimation of Aerosol Concentration in a Closed Vessel

Pages 603-609 | Published online: 04 Jun 2010

Abstract

A computer code was developed which calculates airborne concentration of an aerosol as a function of time. Particle generation, coagulation, and settling are the mechanisms included. The simplicity is achieved largely by use of a postulated steady-state size distribution function. Calculated and observed concentration versus time are shown to agree quite well. A series of calculations of concentration versus time are presented to show the effects of various parameters.
