Abstract

With greater emphasis placed on occupational health activities as a result of recent federal legislation, a method for planning and evaluating such programs is needed. A system to achieve these ends, developed in Pennsylvania and in use since 1966, is presented. The system, known as Work Index Numbers or WINS, is an objective management tool and mathematically weights work output to type of activity performed. The system has application to other programs.
