Abstract
A supplied-air bubble suit was developed to improve the protection of personnel working with radioactive materials and other contaminants. Details of the description, development work, and procedures for proper usage of the bubble suit are presented. The bubble suit was developed primarily for use in operations where the airborne contamination level of certain radionuclides significantly exceeds Radioactive Concentration Guides. The bubble suit has a number of applications in providing protection against radioactive or nonradioactive materials. Much of the development of the bubble suit was done within the Health Physics Section at Mound Laboratory in conjunction with the manufacturer.
