A comparison of two impact noise measurement techniques

Abstract

Impact noise measurements obtained with a General Radio 1556-B impact noise analyzer and an oscilloscope have been compared. The results showed that the meter readings must be corrected to achieve agreement of ± 1 dB. The duration feature of the meter shows relatively poor estimation of duration.
