Benzene in gasoline II

Pages 391-393 | Published online: 04 Jun 2010

Abstract

NIOSH recently proposed reducing occupational exposure criteria for benzene from 10 ppm to 1 ppm. In view of these developments, reexamination of the practical impact of such a standard in relation to gasoline has been made. A new nomograph was also developed which allows prediction of low-level benzene concentrations in air from the concentration found in a liquid phase.
