Abstract

A study of selected mercury and multi-vapor lamps, commonly used for working environment illumination, was undertaken to evaluate the scope of the ultraviolet personnel hazards one may expect under various operating conditions of the lamps. Spectral irradiance measurements were made for operating conditions with and without reflector-type luminaires, glass covers on luminaires and outer glass bulbs on the lamps.
